We're having a good week Jim. Best result of the season so far against Shahar Peer.
Shahar said Marion would be No.1 if she kept playing that well!

Marion Bartoli (FRA) d. (8) Shahar Peer (ISR) 61 60
Outstanding Alice! That injury seems to have spurred Marion on! I agree with Shahar, if Marion can keep this form, a GS title must surely be there for her.

Marion Bartoli def Shuai Peng 6-2 6-2 I have never seen Marion strike the ball as well as she is doing at present. Wozniacki or Pennetta next, and Marion now has the game to go all the way

Singles - Semifinals (1) Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) d. Marion Bartoli (FRA) 61 61 (2) Vera Zvonareva (RUS) d. (5) Jelena Jankovic (SRB) 61 26 64
Caro was simply superb. She dominated and control the match from the start. Marion seemed to hurry a lot of her shots, not like her at all and missed a lot of easy balls. Still A great start to the season and recovery from that injury!

I feel gutted this week Jim. I published a disastrous post on the blog and let Marion down badly.
I made criticism of the facilities and the weather. It was motivated by the urge to defend Marion because of a bunch of stories that had broken. But it was completely unprofessional to proceed on the basis of fan hearsay that had no official verification, and above all without Marion having made any comment herself. It was appallingly bad judgement on my part.
I see my mistake now so clearly and feel completely stupid and ashamed for any embarresment it may have caused the team.
It hurts to get it so wrong, and worry now it may have ruined everything.

Another no-nonesense win for MArion! Nastya is struggling but winning, and Jelena D is toughing it out as well. Some good matches ahead.

It hurts to get it so wrong, and worry now it may have ruined everything. I been there and done that Alice, and we have a lot of company. Now I only listen too and accept information from people I trust. Even so, I leave it too the player to comment on a tournament or its officials, or on an opponent's game, behaviour etc. As you probably saw, this tournament like Dubai and Doha is very poorly attended. Perhaps this coloured some peoples opinion of the tournament in general. Regardless of what has happened, it is now past and it was a mistake you will not make again. The bog is far too important to all Marion fan's as it is the only genuine link to Marion. So keep yer chin up, there is still a lot of work ahead for you!
