A bit more from Marion
"The French No. 1 in the WTA rankings, Bartoli did not indicate if the injury will prevent her from participating in the upcoming French Open.
It was unclear when Bartoli, a semifinalist at this Tier III claycourt event last season, suffered the injury although she appeared to have trouble getting in rhythm from the start of the match. As one of the top two seeds, Bartoli had received a first-round bye.
“I was hoping it would get better during the match but it didn’t, and eventually it was hurting to hold onto the racquet,” Bartoli said. “It was hard to tell exactly what was wrong today but we’ll probably have some tests on it this week. I’m hopeful of still playing at Roland Garros next week.”

She really could do with a good showing at RG. I dont want to see her drop points and slip down the ranking.
I'm praying she will be fit for RG.
Btw, I forgot that she hammered Peng last autumn.

REUTERS - Paris French number one Marion Bartoli has said she may miss the French Open starting on Sunday because of a wrist injury.. "Now I am worried because I never felt any pain in my wrist. We absolutely need to find the cause of the pain less than a week before Roland Garros. We suppose it is a tense nerve because I cannot bend my fingers anymore. The draw for the tournament. * * * * * * * * * * * Curiously I got a mysterious swelling and bruising appear on a finger in my right hand on Wednesday evening. Dunno how. Possibly had the watch strap on my wrist too tight while running. Sympathetic injury ? Ok that's absurd. Marion

It could also be a vertabrae pressing on the Ulnar nerve. All that muscle she put on in her upperbody/Shoulders can pull them out of line. Hopefully it will ease up, but the last thing she needs is for it to reappear at RG
