"Going to beat up the ladies in 2009" Uhhm "Im tired of people calling me a glamour girl. I won 3 slams and 16 other titles. You can only do that if you are good, and Im still only 21. And get this. I wont and never have step on court to look good. I go on court to beat the crap out of my opponent" Big Masha

Oh we know THAT Maria isnt just a pretty face. Indeed Marion respects Maria S alot, saying ayear or two ago that she is the toughest competitor she had played against. Someone who fights for every points. But still, hope my girl beats them all up in 2009, in a friendly way of course Malky as they say in Glasgow Two-handed tornando!

Kleybanova, Arvidsson, Alona Bondy and Garbin, the players in Marion's side of the draw.

Azarenka, Bartoli cruise at Brisbane; Kirilenko withdraws
Brisbane, Australia (Sports Network) - Victoria Azarenka and Marion Bartoli breezed through first-round action at the $220,000 Brisbane International, a 2009 season-opening event on the WTA Tour.
Seventh-seeded Russian Maria Kirilenko, meanwhile, withdrew from the tournament due to an illness. Japan's Ai Sugiyama, the next highest ranked player not to be seeded, took Kirilenko's position in the draw and will face Sam Stosur on Monday.
Azarenka, the No. 2 seed, dominated Kateryna Bondarenko of the Ukraine, 6-0, 6-2, and third-seeded Bartoli cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over wild card Monika Wejnert on the hardcourts at Queensland Tennis Center.
The biggest upset of the day saw Estonian Kaia Kanepi get upended by Russia's Alisa Kleybanova in a 6-1, 6-4 decision.
In other first-round action on the season's first day, Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova outlasted Monica Niculescu of Romania, 6-7 (2-7), 6-4, 6-4, while Slovakia's Jarmila Gajdosova pulled out a 6-4, 6-2 win over Shuai Peng of China.
Chinese Na Li defeated Belarusian Victoria Azarenka in last year's finale.

Brilliant. Marion through to play Amelie. Marion has less hours to recover than Amelie so it's good that she was off court pretty quick. In fact her route this semi final has been less than half the duration of her route to the Linz semi.
Cummon Marion, this time, take out Mauresmo.

Sadly, Marion lost too Vika 3-6 1-6. Marion had 6 double faults and with 63 % 1st serves in, Marion won only 43% of the points. The 2nd set was over quickly. Still its on too Sydney, and hopefully another final, this time Champion!
Allez Marion!!!
