Petra could be a threat, but she blew up and sank in her last RG match. Meng Yuan has been coming on, not as well as the other Chinese girls though, but will probably run about all day

Vaidisova Snaps Losing Streak; Bartoli's Continues
BIRMINGHAM, UK - It was another mixed day for the seeded contingent at the $200,000 DFS Classic on Wednesday, as the remaining 11 second round matches took the grass of the English city. Four seeds advanced while four seeds - including No.1 - fell, as the round of 16 line-up was finalized.
Top seed Marion Bartoli, hoping to rebound from a first round loss at Roland Garros on what became her most successful surface a year ago, fell at the first hurdle of her 2008 grass court debut, dropping a 57 64 60 decision to Petra Cetkovska. Bartoli took the first set and, at 4-all, had two points to hold for 5-4 in the second set. But she crumbled from there, losing nine of the last 11 points of the second set and winning just nine points in a lopsided, 18-minute third set to suffer a devastating setback.
"My serve was becoming more and more difficult due to my injury; but I don't like to retire during a match unless I really have to, because I like to be fair to everybody," said Bartoli, who is still struggling with a right wrist injury she suffered at Strasbourg the week before Roland Garros. "I used to be in great shape but now I always seem to have an injury and I'm not always 100%.
"There's a danger I may miss Wimbledon if it doesn't get better; it would be very disappointing, especially after last year."
Cetkovska, who just reached her first Grand Slam fourth round at Roland Garros, has now earned her first Top 10 win by beating the world No.10.
No.6 seed Sania Mirza also suffered an upset in her first match of the week, falling to Marina Erakovic, 63 60. Mirza is playing her first event since Indian Wells in March after struggling with her own right wrist injury.
"When I stepped on the court today I was very happy to be playing - but at this point it's not whether I win or lose, I'm just happy that I'm playing," Mirza said. "I don't have a choice but to take the injury in my stride. At the end of the day it's a tennis match, it's not like I'm going to die if I lose."
Other seeds joining Bartoli and Mirza on the sidelines were No.7 seed Olga Govortsova, who squandered two set points leading 6-4 in the second set tie-break before falling to lucky loser Melinda Czink, 63 76(6), and No.11 seed Casey Dellacqua, who lost to Yanina Wickmayer in three sets, 62 36 63.
Seeds managing to avoid the upset bug were No.3 seed Nicole Vaidisova, who snapped out of a six-match losing streak with a 61 63 win over Nathalie Dechy; No.5 seed Alona Bondarenko, who edged Virginia Ruano Pascual, 76(4) 36 75; No.12 seed Kateryna Bondarenko, who beat qualifier Samantha Stosur, 63 62; and No.17 seed Aiko Nakamura, who outlasted Sorana Cirstea, 64 46 64.
Winners in matches between unseeded players were Camille Pin and qualifiers Yaroslava Shvedova and Sunitha Rao. Shvedova earned the tightest win of the day, nearly blowing a 5-2 third set lead but closing out Katie O'Brien, 75 16 75.
"In the last few years I've felt out of my depth, but this year I belong and now I can build on my ranking," O'Brien said after the match. "I plan to spend next year on the Tour. Sometimes it's not the tennis that lets me down, it's my nerves."

Poor Marion must wonder when this awful trial of injuries she is enduring will end. I hate too see any player suffering injuries. But its worse when its one of my favourites.
Keep your chin up Marion!! Rest up and get these injuries healed! You'll soon be back up the rankings again!
Allez Marion!

Every player goes through these spells. Sharapova and Misa are the most obvious. Marion will come out of this one. Just takes time.
